Friday favorites with Shampooheads

*This post is sponsored by way of review product.

A little while ago we received two different product lines from the Shampooheads brand and my kids put them to the test.  These are their thoughts.

We received products for my younger kids as well as the Strawberry kiss line from “Shampooheads Professional” range for my tweenager to review.

These products are the brainchild of husband and wife team Geoff and Colette Bell who have 30 years of industry and educational expertise.  The products were designed using feedback from kids including their own three children, on which the kiddies range is based naming the ranges “Awesome Annie (tropical scent), Busy Bob (blueberry scent) and Raging Rosie (strawberry scent)” With both ranges the Bell’s  sought input from well know childcare expert Dr Miriam Stoppard who gave it her stamp of approval and the catch phrase for the professionals range  is “BY KIDS, FOR KIDS” where they truly went to great lengths to find out what teens and tweens are really looking for and gave them just that with 3 lines in the range.

My two younger kids tested the Raging Rosie 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner, the Busy Bob 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner and Busy Bob crazy gell as well as the Awesome Annie detangling spray. All of these products can be found exclusive to Clicks and retail for R59.95 each.

The Professional range can be found at selected salons only and prices range between R175 and R220 per product which is a steal for a salon product.

Because my younger kids are a little too young to give a decent review I asked them what they liked most and least. It is kind of verbatim.

Mila (4) on Raging Rosie 2 in 1 and Awesome Annie detangler.

What I liked most: It smells yummy and fixes my “koekerasie” which is our family term for her mouse nest of hair she wakes up with each day.

What I didn’t like: I didn’t like the picture on the bottle…. go figure!

Reece (7) on Busy Bob 2 in 1 and Busy Bob Crazy gel

What I liked most: I love the cool blue colour of the shampoo. I think Bob looks cool. I liked all the bubbles it makes and I can use it myself, I don’t need mom to help.

What I didn’t like: I didn’t like the smell of the shampoo and The gel is too sticky for me. I don’t like sticky hair.

Zoë (10) on the Strawberry Kiss Shampooheads Professional range

What I liked most: OMW (Yes verbatim) I love it so much, I have very long hair and it makes it so soft and silky. The Smell is divine and I absolutely love the Black and hot pink packaging, it’s so cool! The shampoo makes nice bubbles and rinses out my long hair easily. I also find it makes blowdrying easy, even if I don’t use the heat protection/detangling spray. I read that the products are enriched with “Soft cotton extract” and that they are smoothing and moisturising and they definately are.  The detangling spray is the bomb!  I keep it in my school bag now and I would be lost without it.  I love it so much.

What I didn’t like: The bottles are very big and take up a lot of space and I don’t like the screw top on the conditioner.  I wish it was also a pump. I also didn’t like the fact that my Mom kept stealing my shampoo to use….. ok  yes I did, I admit, but it smells so damn good.

So that from the kids and now from me.  What I like and don’t like:

What I absolutely love is that all of the products are child friendly and safe to use, they are non toxic, mild and gentle and free from Sulphates and other nasties. They are PH balanced, Paraben free and not tested on animals. The quality of the product, packaging and reasonable pricing is another thing I really love. I also really love the size of the professional range of products.  Real value for money. I wasn’t mad about the shape of the Kiddies range containers.  They didn’t say so but It seemed as if my kids really struggled to hold them nicely to pump out for themselves.  I mostly ended up doing it for them although my Son did manage it better than my 4 year old. The smell of the boys product was a little too “girly” in my opinion but hey, that’s just me.

Well, that’s it for me this Friday, I hope you enjoyed this mini product review by my three kids and myself,  I can recommend giving these products a try and we will certainly be purchasing them for ourselves again.  If you would like to know more about the Shampooheads Professional range you can follow them on Facebook and find out where you can get your kids some…. ok maybe yourself too.  More information is also available on the brand website and that you can find here.

*All views are those of mine and my kids.  We were not paid to write this review.  We did however, receive the products as a gift to test.
