Hello again, I have to apologize for being so scarce but I haven’t had a single chance to sit and write a post this week. With my last post, I let you all know about #WorldVeganMonth2016 and the 30-day challenge that I am trying my best to take part in. As I mentioned I am not vegan but am really trying my best to concentrate on eating as close to 100% vegan food for the month of November where possible. It’s not been too difficult because as it is we are pretty much 95% plant-based anyway but it has meant a few substitutions nonetheless. One of these is with regards to sweet treats. Read More
November is World Vegan Month
Right, so as the title suggests, November is not only a month where many men set their focus on supporting the very raw issue of cancer by participating in “Movember” and other projects but it is also lesser known as being world vegan month. I have said it before and I am going to say it again just to avoid any confusion. I don’t by any means follow an authentic vegan lifestyle but I try and live my life as in line with the ethos as possible, wherever possible. I personally don’t enjoy eating meats of any kind, it does not make my body feel good and so I avoid it 95% of the time where I can. I do however really enjoy all things plant based and have all my life. I am not a big egg fan but do really enjoy dairy and so this last year I have been learning to substitute this with dairy free options and it has been going great. In November I challenge myself to go a full 30 days without any meat and this year I am going to try ditch as many animal by products as I can as well. Read More

A little while ago we received two different product lines from the Shampooheads brand and my kids put them to the test. These are their thoughts.
We received products for my younger kids as well as the Strawberry kiss line from “Shampooheads Professional” range for my tweenager to review.
These products are the brainchild of husband and wife team Geoff and Colette Bell who have 30 years of industry and educational expertise. The products were designed using feedback from kids including their own three children, on which the kiddies range is based naming the ranges “Awesome Annie (tropical scent), Busy Bob (blueberry scent) and Raging Rosie (strawberry scent)” With both ranges the Bell’s sought input from well know childcare expert Dr Miriam Stoppard who gave it her stamp of approval and the catch phrase for the professionals range is “BY KIDS, FOR KIDS” where they truly went to great lengths to find out what teens and tweens are really looking for and gave them just that with 3 lines in the range. Updated post: Yesterday saw the end of Marriage week SA 2016 which I think is a really wonderful idea by the way and so in the spirit of all things marriage and commitment I decided to revisit this old post. I had meant to do this earlier but life got in the way and I didn’t get to it. I originally wrote this post in Feb 2013 when we were going to be celebrating our 10 year anniversary that October and seeing as though we celebrate our 13th wedding anniversary next month, I have been thinking about it a lot, because it still stands out to me as one of the posts I wrote from the deepest space in my heart and that is exactly what this blog was intended for. So that being said I have decided to spruce it up and put it back out there for you to read. Nothing has really changed and the words I spoke below are the words I would speak today, except that we are heading toward the 15-year mark now. Read More
