SPONSORED REVIEW POST
A little while back I was approached by the gorgeous Mandy-Lee Miller from the amazing firm with the same name, to be the lucky recipient of the opportunity to have a family photoshoot with a local photographer who was participating in the awesome #makingmemories campaign with Kids Emporium Paarl, as part of a greater campaign by the well known baby and kids designer brands experience that is Kids Emporium.
The #makingmemories campaign was spread across South Africa and was a promotion whereby whenever patrons bought something in their local Kids Emporium store, they would receive a discount voucher to a family shoot with a local photographer and could stand a chance of winning a family photoshoot themselves. I think this is a fantastic idea to give back to the community that supports your business, and at the same time supporting the businesses of local photographers all over the country. I loved and was very excited about the idea that Lauren de Swart the owner, and the Kids Emporium team had when they put this promotion together.
Now you must know, we haven’t had a family photo shoot for a few years, in fact, it could have been three years ago which is a shame, so you have to know how excited we all were to get capturing our own memories in new pictures. Getting to do the actual shoot had it’s own hiccups with dicey weather and sick kids being a factor, but in the end, the day we did manage to get together and that we ended up having at the Helderberg Farm in Somerset West with Wendy was absolutely stunning and the pictures speak volumes.
Wendy Swart from Wendy Swart Photography was very accommodating of our at times AWOL children who seemed to have a mission of their own and at one point even required knee patching after a nasty fall on a rock. She was even so kind as to indulge my daughters in some incredibly beautiful scenic shots with their Violins. We have been desperate for some quality pictures of our three children together as well as some photo’s of us with our kids and of course my husband and I getting to share a special moment together. Tomorrow is our 13th Wedding anniversary and so these photo’s came at the perfect time and I will be enlarging and framing, one of those as a gift to my husband this year.
Wendy was really lovely and because she had used the venue before, she knew exactly where to get the best shots and make the most of the lovely light we had at the time of day she suggested for the shoot. Now, I am very impatient and was so curious to see how the pictures looked that I was very pleased when wendy had them all ready for us on a lovely DVD with a special cover within a few days. She went to so much trouble to give us all the best shots in various file sizes and also included them in Sepia and Black & White which I love. I posted a few of them on my personal Facebook page when she sent me the sneak preview and got such a massive response from my friends, that I was super excited to receive the rest and I was not disappointed.
I will let the pictures speak for themselves because I think that is all that is really needed. I wish I could show you them all but that would not be practical, and trust me when I say, selecting ones to show here was a really hard task because I love them all.
First I just want to tell you what I have already done since I got the CD with the images. I had a lovely Nifty250 Voucher that I had received a while back with a campaign for Ponds Age Miracle and I have been putting off using it because I didn’t want to waste it on older images. As soon as I could I was on Instagram loading up the pictures I wanted printed so that I could finally get my gallery wall up at home. I can’t wait to get them up and displayed proudly on my walls at home.
So now for the big brag. I am obsessed with quite a few of the photo’s of my kids of course and being their mother I obviously am biased, but don’t you think they are gorgeous? As you can see below the photo’s are pretty awesome and we are totally obsessed with them all. We loved how Wendy managed to capture the love between us all but essepcially the amazing bond my children have with one another. These are real solide memories that I will cherish forever.
Thank you, Kids Emporium for making it possible for us to spend time with Wendy Swart and for helping us in #MakingMemories of our own.
I hope you have enjoyed reading this post and looking at the wonderful pictures. If you are in the Helderberg Basin and looking for a photographer for that special occasion then you can contact Wendy on her Website or on her Facebook Page and don’t forget to pop into your nearest Kids Emporium to see all the lovely designer brands they offer for Babies, Kids and parents to be.
