Wellness Feature {The Beauty Benefits of Omega 3’s}

I have always struggled with really thin, limp hair and very brittle fingernails, and come to that time of the month I have a massive tendency to sport a big one on my chin and on my forehead (Ok, so that’s nothing to people that really struggle with their skin I know, but they are sore and huge and take forever to go away and unwanted nonetheless) None of this however compares to the unpleasantness that is sore and stiff joints related to early onset Rheumatoid Arthritis.

That all changed considerably when I started supplementing my body with some very important oils. I first started using Omega 3’s about 2 years ago only.  Yes can you believe it? My own diet has always been very rich in Omega’s because I eat mostly seafood and a lot of vegetables but it just wasn’t enough.  Eating this way helped yes but my body really did need the extra help from good supplements.

Just recently I was sent a few products from the Vitabiotics range to try out. Amongst them were the Ultra Omega 3 and the Ultra Krill oil. I had been using a different brand up until that point but after using these for a while, I doubt that I will change back to the other brand. Besides all the positive effects that I  receive from these supplements, there is one extra resounding factor that is a game changer for me.  They do not make me taste Fish all day long. I have taken some really cheap brands and some really expensive ones, and some of them are so bad that I haven’t been able to finish the box due to the constant aftertaste of fish.  These just don’t do that.  The quality of Fish oil used is very high and I am sold. They also contain no artificial preservatives or colourants.Wellness Feature {The Beauty Benefits of Omega 3's}

Did you know that Fish Oil supplements are used for a number of health benefits? What many may not know is that these essential fatty acids also have a number of amazing beauty benefits! Omega-3 has a positive effect on the appearance and condition of hair, skin and nails.

We all know that diet plays such an important role in one’s skin health. If you have any skin problems, you’re probably lacking in omega-3. Omega-3 essential fatty acids are vital to skin health, providing a rich source of moisture that revitalize skin from the inside out.

Omega-3 fatty acids nourish hair follicles for shiny strong hair. Omega-3 also provides moisture to the skin, thus reducing dryness that leads to dandruff and itchy scalp.

Omega-3s also helps maintain strong, healthy nails. Omega-3 can help moisturise your nails and prevent nail chipping and splitting.

My hair is so much thicker now and stronger since using Omega’s and my nails have totally done an about turn.  They are no longer brittle and don’t chip much.  They look so much healthier and that makes me very happy.  My Feet are also so much softer, I used to really struggle with cracked heels and no amount of foot balm would help.

So if you are having any issues with your hair, skin nails or joints then you definitely need to be checking out this range. Another fact about the use of Omega’s in general is that they are fantastic for brain function.  They really do help with memory and focus.  If you are a parent to school going children then your children should definitely also be taking these. The Vitabiotics range of products is available from their website as well as some leading pharmacies and your nearest Dischem store. You can go online and find out more about his fantastic range or premium supplementation at www.vitabiotics.co.za

This is not a sponsored post.  I was sent the product and I like it, so I thought I would share the love with you. Some of the factual text is taken from a recent press release that was sent to me.

  1. Such a great read! I haven’t taken any supplements due to the exact reason you stated. After taste. Do you perhaps know of benefits of omega 3 during pregnancy? It should be a good thing right.

    Thank you!♡

    1. Wonderful, yes the aftertaste is usually really off-putting. Omega’s during pregnancy are a very very good idea. Supplements made from the body of fish is usually called Omega 3’s are very safe and great for you and your growing baby. I would steer kleer of those supplements made from the liver of fish, such as Cod Liver Oil.
